My new wonder product!

Hello lovelies :)
Since it's sunday, the day of rest; I thought i'd take the time out of my lazy pyjama day to tell you about my new favourite beauty product! A bold statement i know but this stuff is seriously amazing, especially if you're lazy like me :P
Let me introduce you to this little lovely

This lovely thick cream works in the same way as a hair conditioner would, but it's for your body. You use it after your normal shower gel and rinse it off and there's no need to apply moisturiser once you're dry. In hindsight, it probably doesn't save a lot of time but it's a novel idea and it leaves my skin lovely and smooth and you don't have to wait around for it to dry before getting dressed which is a massive bonus!
I've been raving about this to everyone and i really can't big it up enough. It's a lovely moisturiser and a really good idea. You can choose between moisturiser for dry or normal skin too! :)
Has anyone else tried this? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The Rocky Horror Show

Hello Lovelies!
Last night, my friends and I went to The rocky horror show at the theatre royal in Norwich. We love all things trashy, sparkly and a little bit wrong and we've been waiting for this night for months and it was amazing!
Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures of the show but rest assured that everyone looked amazing and the cast put on a very good performance.
I went to see this 6 years ago, but i didn't dress up which is something i regretted afterwards because everyone's costumes looked amazing.
This time though, we went all out;

This was my make up look for the evening. I had SO much make up on, it was unreal. My face actually looked a bit dirty which of course all added to the trashy effect. These eyelashes are triple eyelashes and it actually felt like i had tunnel vision trying to see through these. They're my eyelure and i got them from boots and think i paid about £7. That does seem a bit steep but they are reusable :)
Unfortunately this isn't my real hair. It's a wig by reelva. It cost me £4.99 from eBay and for synthetic hair it's actually really good quality! :)

People kept asking for photos of and with us because they loved our outfits so much! It was very surreal and we felt like celebrities and i've got to say i felt so confident!
After the show, we went to a pub called the waterfront to an 80's/rocky horror night. Cheap drinks and we got in for free because we had our theatre tickets :) We met some lovely gentlemen who were dressed like an 80's hair metal band and spent the evening outside with them chatting and laughing.

I think this was possibly the best night of my life. We had so much fun!
I'd love to hear from other people who went to the show and hear your thoughts! :)

Yesterday's look.

Hello lovelies :)
I felt compelled to share with you the outfit I wore yesterday! I went out for a nice lunch with some friends then we went back to my friend's house and sat in her garden in the sunshine. It was lovely and warm and i sat and made a daisy chain whilst we all shared gossip. It was a beautiful day! I was also happy because my new dress that I wore is from asos....but not asos curve like I have had to buy in the past (which is a lovely range I will add and definitely more than caters for plus size girls). I have now lost enough weight to fit into their regular range! :D Since last June I have lost 3 stone just by using My Fitness Pal

Bracelet - Asos (Out Of Stock)
Dress - Asos - £28.00
Cardigan - Primark
Necklace - Primark
Sandals - Matalan (years old)

Just a little side note to this post. This nail varnish is amazing! I painted my nails on tuesday evening and they are still chip free. You only need two coats for full coverage and it dries really quickly! And let's be honest, can you really go wrong for £1.99. I plan to buy many, many more of these. :)

MAC "Captive" and "Ruby woo"...

Hello lovelies. :)
Here is my second post for today, i was going to leave it for a bit later but i'm not feeling too well so i thought i'd go back to bed for a while and blog from the comfort of my duvet! :D
This post is going to feature my two amazing new lipsticks by MAC! Now, i am a girl on a budget so these have never been a go-to product of mine but when my boyfriend said he wanted to treat me. I thought this would be a prime opportunity to try out MAC's famous lipsticks! My mum always used to tell me that lipstick makes a difference but up until about 3 months ago, i was never really bothered. But now, i literally can't wear make up without finishing my look with a slick of lipstick!
"Ruby woo" is an amazing red shade with a matte finish! I've never tried a matte lipstick before but i fell so in love with this shade of red that i had to have it. And omg, i am so glad i picked it! It lasts all day (with one or two minor touch ups) when worn alone but i always use my nan's go to product Lipcote. And with a bit of that on top, it lasts all day and i don't have to worry about it sliding off. The only other lipstick i have known to last all day is Maxfactor's Lipfinity. So i am very impressed with this and will be buying more matte lipsticks in the future. I've read on a few other beauty blogs that matte lipsticks are difficult to apply so that's why i have steered clear but that's not the case with this. It glides on very easily!
I usually stick to wearing red but "Captive" is a different shade for me. It's a pinkish plum colour with a satin finish. I bought a plum lipstick a few months ago but the colour was so dark that it just washed me out and made me look ill so i was a bit sceptical about this shade but i am pleasantly surprised! It is still quite dark but just light enough to not make me look like a zombie! The lasting power was quite different with this lipstick. Although it did last a good 2 hours before i had to reapply it again (not a full reapply i will add, it just slipped off the middle of my lips but stayed round the edges). It wasn't an all dayer like Ruby Woo. It also didn't like my lipcote very much and i found that it made no difference to the lipstick and made it difficult to reapply, as putting more lipstick over the lipcote just makes you end up with bitty lipstick all over your lips - Not a good look!
I'm so glad i bought these lipsticks and i've fell in love with them so much that they may just have to become a regular purchase. At £14 a time, they're a little pricey but they're so worth it! The staying power is overall a winner and they also smell gorgeous! Unlike other lipsticks, these have a sort of vanilla smell. Heavenly!

What are your favourite MAC products? :)

Yesterday's OOTD!

Hello lovelies! :)
This is going to be my first of two posts today, it will feature the outfit i wore yesterday and also i will tell you about a big relationship milestone me and my lovely boyfriend hit! So here is my outfit

Cardigan - Primark
Top - Primark
Shorts - New Look
Creepers -  Ebay

This cardigan is my spring staple at the minute with this ever changing weather. It's thick but it's not as heavy as wearing a coat. I nickname it my grandad cardie and i love it! :) I've wanted to get some creepers for a little while now. I usually stick to flats or boots so i thought these would make a nice change as it's still a bit too cold for sandals or flats!

So, yesterday consisted of going out with Adam (the boyfriend) and choosing a cat for us to adopt! We went to the RSPCA and fell in love with a cute 4 year old female called Gill.

She has sore eyes at the minute as when she was picked up by the RSPCA, they were ulcerated and she had to have an operation but she just has to have some eye drops in twice a day and the people at the centre said they should be all better in a couple of weeks! I can't wait to bring her home. She was so loving and affectionate, she wouldn't leave me and Adam alone!

I got instagram yesterday but i can't quite figure out how to get a follow button onto here just yet! But if you'd like to follow me, here is a link to my account :)

Josie Gibson's 30 second slim

Hi everyone!
Wow! It's been a while since i last posted anything. I've been quite busy with work and stuff and also not very well off so i haven't been able to buy much to review...well, i have got a few reviews in the pipeline but i guess i have been feeling a bit lazy of late as well :P So there, my excuses are out of the way. Now, let's get down to business.
I know this slightly veers away from the usual content of my blog but i suppose this being a review of a fitness DVD, it kind of ties in to the beauty side of things.
I've made no secret of the fact that I've always been on the heavier side but since last June, I've been on a one woman mission to slim down (I've shed 35lbs so far). After Christmas i put on half a stone so i thought I'd step up my weight loss and buy this DVD. Everyone can see how amazing Josie looks now and i thought I've gotta get me some of that!

This is the description given on Amazon;

"Big Brother’s Josie Gibson is more of a little sister now! She’s dropped 5 dress sizes and 3 stone using 30-Second Slim. Personal trainer James Stark created this Short Sharp Slim workout based on the latest science of High Intensity Interval Training. It’s just 30 seconds of sweat, followed by an active rest.

"Laboratory tests show it burns fat faster than any other form of exercise," says James.

Plus, Josie reckons, "it’s great if you’re a bit lazy like me ‘cos the hard bit only lasts 30 seconds at a time!"

Three 20-minute workouts build in intensity from Level 1 to Level 3. In each there’s…
  • WARM-UP: 4 minutes of easy calorie-burning moves.
  • MAIN WORKOUT: 12 minutes of fat-burning intervals & moves to tone up the bum, arms and belly.
  • COOL DOWN: 4 minutes of stretches to lengthen the muscles."

I'm not gonna lie and say that this is a walk in the park, because it's really tough work. Especially if you're like me and have pretty much never exercised in your life! I lost my Christmas weight in two weeks (doing level one 3 times a week) and then put my DVD back on the shelf because i was just finding it too hard! But after 2 months of doing wii fit and playing the just dance and zumba games, i felt ready for something a bit more strenuous! I've been doing this again for about a week and a half now and so far, I've lost another 4.2lbs so this is definitely working for me (along with watching what i eat of course; i track my food intake using my fitness pal). I still find it very tough and I'm still only on level 1 but it's gradually getting easier and the results speak for themselves. Josie says to stick with it, so that's what i plan to do. She has done amazingly well and I'd be happy to look half as good as her. I also enjoy this DVD because her story is very easy to relate to for real people. She's not just some gym fanatic who has never had to lose that much weight. She used to be a larger girl and she's worked hard to slim down, and when you're doing this work out, it feels like she knows what you're going through.
Has anyone else used this DVD? What were your thoughts?

My spring wishlist

I thought I'd cheer myself up during this horrible cold spell by making a wish list of things to see me through the spring and summer months when they finally arrive! I was instantly drawn to these two pairs of sandals. Especially the turquoise and leopard print ones. I think they're really different and i love anything leopard print so these are going to be perfect for seeing me through the summer. I love these dresses as well. Bold prints are essential for me and i need something to wear the sandals with now don't i ;)
I mentioned this jacket in a previous post so i had to feature it on my wish list! I know a jacket (well this is kind of more like a coat) is slightly un-necessary during the summer months but if i get in there and buy this quickly then i could get a couple of months wear out of it in the spring. I fell in love with this bag because of it's unusual hexagonal shape and, like most girls i love a good handbag :) the bigger the better! This is slightly too small for my usual taste but we have to break our own rules occasionally when something REALLY catches our eye. And this did :) I think it'd go perfectly with the 3/4 sleeve dress and a cute pair of pumps!

You can view/buy these things here :)

Amazing Jacket!

I saw this jacket whilst browsing around some other blogs and fell in love with it! I plan to buy it when it comes back in stock but in the meantime, i decided to play around on Polyvore and dream about how i'm going to wear it when i have it in my clutches. Obviously, i won't be buying these designer bits but i have some high street alternatives to wear it with! I can't wait!

Garnier Moisture Match - Shine Be Gone

My pay day finally arrived, which means I'm baaaaaaack! :D Pay day means i can buy more beauty products (which is what I spend most of my money on) and feature them on here for you lovely people to enjoy :)
Today I will be telling you about a new moisturiser I stumbled upon and had to buy. As I've mentioned many times on here, I suffer from oily skin and i will buy into pretty much anything that says it will mattify it! It drives me mad and it's an ongoing quest to find something to rectify it and I think I might have cracked it with this little beauty!
I'll start off by showing you the whole range

This is the description of them from the Boots website

"Not all skin is the same, so a tailor-made approach to your skincare routine is essential.
The five new Moisture Match moisturisers combines the best textures and ingredients with Mannose – a patented hydrating active ingredient – which works hard to help reinforce the skin’s barrier function and to improve the appearance of skin texture.
There are five moisturisers to choose from:
Goodbye Dry (for dry to very dry skin)
Start Afresh (for normal to dry skin)
Shine Be Gone (for combination to oily skin)
Wake Me Up (for dull skin)
Protect & Glow (for Normal skin)"

I bought my moisturiser from Boots and it cost £5.99 for 50ml which is a steal in my opinion for something that gives your skin tailor made hydration. I naturally went for "shine be gone" for combination to oily skin.

"Garnier’s first ever whipped formula for a uniquely cooling texture.
With Aquakeep technology, Shine be gone is blended with super-absorbent micro-spheres to deliver a mattifying effect that lasts all day.
Just a little of the cooling sorbet texture goes a long way and is immediately absorbed leaving skin non-greasy and looking perfectly mattified.
Green Tea extract, known for its powerful antioxidant and detoxifying properties protects the skin whilst leaving it looking beautifully smooth and matte."
I'm a huge fan of garnier products anyway, I always find they do the job they're designed to do and at a very affordable price and I can happily sit here and type that this does exactly what it says on the tin! I was actually amazed that something so cheap could have such a good effect on my skin. The texture is very odd, it is slightly lumpy almost. It is described as a sorbet and I think that pretty much sums up how it feels and you don't need a lot to cover your whole face. Once you apply it, it sinks in in no more than a minute and leaves no trace at all. Just really smooth, hydrated skin and the best bit - no oiliness. Even after a 10 hour day at work, it was still fighting back against my skin's oiliness and it won! My skin stayed matte all that time and well into the evening as well. This just goes to prove that you don't have to spend big bucks to get incredible results. After extensive research and trying endless amounts of different products and make up, I was starting to think that I would never find anything to tackle my shiny face, but I will definitely be buying this over and over again. It smells beautiful too and provides a great, even base for make up.
My ONLY gripe with this is that it doesn't contain an SPF so I would advise if you get this to wear a foundation or primer with SPF in it to avoid any sun damage to your face. I'm not sure if the other moisturisers have this in there so it could be worth checking out before you buy, just in case you rely on your moisturiser for SPF as opposed your make up :)
Has anyone else tried the other moisturisers in this range? I'd love to hear if they are as good as this one!

I'm still here...

Hi everyone! Just a quick post to say that my blog is still up and running. I have just been feeling very uninspired of late. I realise this is my first post of the new year but the January blues have hit me BIG time, and now that we have this awful snow here in the UK i'm feeling even more down in the dumps! I don't have any new clothes or products to write about just yet but hopefully after this looooong month i shall be back in business again and reviewing things until the cows come home. :)
Am i the only one feeling the January blues? It just feels like it's been going on forever!
Roll on February! :)
