What I Wore Today

Poncho - Gift From My Mum
Shoes - New Look
Leggings and Top (under poncho) - Matalan

I've wanted a poncho for a while now. My mum has always worn them but i never thought they'd suit me. I was really happy when i unwrapped this on Christmas day and I've been looking forward to wearing it. I thought because i was a big girl that it might look like i had just thrown a sack over myself but it was actually surprisingly flattering! I just wore it with a black top and leggings today but I'm looking forward to trying out different looks and playing around with it. It makes a nice change from a cardigan or jacket and i felt really comfortable and confident whilst wearing it.
I picked these loafer style shoes up in the sale for £12. I really love all things leopard print and red is my favourite colour so these were a must have. I fell in love with them instantly. I'm always on the lookout for nice flats as i rarely wear heels and these ones are perfect for dressing up or down.

Christmas

Hello everyone :)
I hope you all had a lovely christmas! I was working most of it but i finished early on christmas day so i got most of the day with my boyfriend and i saw my mum and brother later on in the day. I cooked my first christmas dinner for me and my boyfriend and it was a triumph, even if i say so myself :P
I thought i'd share with you a few things i got on the big day :)

My nan got me this lovely set from benefit. It's a lip and cheek kit which contains PosieTint, High Beam, Dandelion powder and Dandelion Lipgloss. I'm a big fan of benefit and this contains all of my favourite products by them which are staples in my make up kit so i was very pleased with this present. If you haven't tried high beam yet, i suggest you take the plunge! It's the best highlighter i've ever tried, and probably my favourite item in my make up bag. I love it so much! I wear it on it's own or with other make up and the results are always outstanding. It really brightens my face and gives my skin an often much needed pick me up! I think it's way better than YSL Touche Eclat, and it's cheaper too. Which is always a bonus!

I got some lovely things from my boyfriend, including this owl bag and woodland creatures bracelet! My boyfriend is very good at buying presents and always gets it right and this year was no exception. I've been wanting this bag for ages but never got round to buying it. I just think it's so cute and really different. I love the unusual charms on the bracelet and so far, i've barely had it off my wrist.

Now, the next gift i'm going to feature may be a bit surprising as i previously did a review of this. It wasn't a negative review, more of an indifferent one but since doing the review i changed my opinion and grew to love this item. It's the lady gaga "fame" perfume.
Adam's dad bought me this gift set, and i love it. The shower gel is the nicest thing i think i've ever smelt and i really like the perfume. I can smell it on me all day which is good because usually i stop smelling my perfumes after about 10 minutes! I think when i did my first review, i didn't give myself a chance to really appreciate how nice this smells. I think once this runs out, i will be buying this again.
I'd love to know what everyone else got for christmas so please feel free to leave a comment :)

Macademia Oil Deep Repair Masque

As much as i like winter; mainly for all things christmas. My hair doesn't. So this year i set out to find a really great product that would keep my hair hydrated for these cold winter months. I colour my hair and also dry and straighten it everyday, so hair masques are really important to keep my hair soft and free from split ends.
That's where Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque comes in. I've always heard amazing things about this but i was a bit put off by the high price tag (500ml £36.75. 250ml £23.95). After a bit of shopping around, i found a 250ml tub on amazon for £12.80 (link above) so i thought i'd try it out to see what all the fuss is about.

What it promises
"Macadamia Natural Oil's Deep Repair Masque revitalises dry, damaged hair like you have never experienced before. Using a combination of macadamia and argan oil infused with tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extracts this masque will rejuvenate and rebuild the hair, leaving it deeply nourished for improved elasticity and shine with long-lasting conditioning benefits."

What I thought
I'm going to be honest, as i always am. This was another disappointment. The high price tag just isn't worth it and i'm so glad i didn't pay the full price for it. Don't get me wrong, it smelt amazing but the results were no different to those you'd get from a cheaper brand and the smell did remind me of a herbal essence conditioner i tried a few years ago. It didn't leave my hair feeling any worse but i didn't really notice a huge difference. Not like what is promised on the packaging. I think what i'm saying is that this product has been overly hyped up online and it didn't really live up to my expectations. I have found that my regular conditioner which is Dove Colour Radiance Express Treatment Conditioner works a lot better if i leave it on for 5 minutes rather than the recommended 30 seconds. I do this everyday but i am still looking for a decent intensive conditioner that i can use once or twice a week. Has anyone got any recommendations? I'd also love to hear your thoughts on Macadamia oil products!

Chloe Jade Green for Topshop

Now, it's no secret to anyone who knows me that i absolutely love shoes. Just like every other girl i'm sure. They also know that i completely fail at walking in them! This always deeply saddens me because it means that i can't have all the shoes in the world i desire. Shoes like these for example...

These are my three favourite pairs of shoes from the new Chloe Jade Green for Topshop collection. I saw the shoes at the top of the list (also my "in my dreams" item of the week) on "this morning" last week and i absolutely fell in love with them so i had to track them down to feature them on here, and then of course i stumbled upon the other shoes in the collection.
This post was pretty much just to bring these amazing shoes to everyone's attention. I really don't think i have to ramble on about them too much as they're so beautiful, that they pretty much do all the talking! They have a lovely Jade Green sole as well which is a nice touch! Very Louboutin-esque!
Be sure to click the link above to check out the rest of this beautiful shoe collection!
Bye for now! :)

Too faced - Shadow Insurance. Anti Crease Eyeshadow Primer

Hello everyone! :)
I'll start off by apologising, my blogging has been quite slack of late. What with Christmas coming up and other things going on in life I just haven't had the time, but today I will be sharing my views on this wonderful product I've discovered!
I heard about this product on beautylish, which has fast become the most used app on my phone. It's great for make up and beauty inspiration, photos and articles. I love it! Anyway, this primer was one of the top rated products and I'm a sucker for anything with a good review. I must admit, I wasn't familiar with too faced as a brand so I went on their website to check out a few of their items. I fell in love instantly! Their products are so well packaged and the quality looks amazing. My only gripe was the price tag. I'm a girl on a very tight budget so I decided to check eBay to see if I could find this primer for a good price. I found it from an eBay shop with good feedback for £4.98 so I just had to get it! I usually use benefit "stay don't stray" eye shadow primer and I find this absolutely amazing, but I'm afraid on this occasion I did stray to discover new things!

Here's what it says on the box

"Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer is your full-coverage insurance policy against all fading, creasing, melting, blurring, oil-slicked and hard-to-blend eye-shadow accidents.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer is a silicone based eye-shadow primer that transforms any eye shadow into a perfectly blendable colour-drenched intensified version of itself, then locks down perfectly ‘till you take it off.
This skin soothing formula evens out the skin tone on your lids and smoothes out lines while it secures a barrier between the oils of your skin and your make-up so no shadow catastrophes will ever happen again."

Ok, so let's get down to business, the directions for use say you only need a small drop to cover each eyelid and this is definitely true. That one small drop covered my eyelid evenly. The formula is quite thick and concentrated, hence why you only need a drop. It's silky smooth and blends in to your own skin perfectly. It dried invisibly so it didn't make my eyelids a different colour from the rest of my face, which is always a good thing. I used this under my urban decay eyeshadow in "S&M" and it didn't budge all day! Urban decay eye shadows are very pigmented anyway but using this primer seemed to intensify the colour even more. At the end of the first day I used this, I came home and my eye shadow still looked as though it had been freshly applied. There were no creases or smudges. Just my eye shadow, still in tact! All in all, I think this is definitely my new go to primer. I will still use my benefit primer under my concealer but as far as my eyelids go. They are converted to this amazing little wonder product!

NOTD - Coral and Black

Main colour - Rimmel lycra pro in Coral Romance
Tips/heart - Nails inc. in Black Taxi

Hello everyone! :)
I've recently been trying my hand at a bit of nail art. I'm no professional yet but i love practising different things on my nails. Sellotape is my nail art tool of choice at the minute, which i use to create my different colour tips. I also used it to create my heart stencil. It was VERY fiddly though as i had to fold the tape in half, and then cut half a heart onto the fold (just like i used to do in primary school when i'd make cards for my family - i knew that would come in handy one day). The fiddly bit was getting it to open out again as obviously it had all stuck together by that point. That's why the heart is a bit pointy, i couldn't get it quite right but i don't think it's too bad for my first attempt! I'm really happy with them!
I'm going to be trying my hand at other patterns and colour combinations, so watch this space for more posts on that! :)

Rimmel lycra pro - Celebrity Bash

Hello Lovelies.
Here is my picture of celebrity bash on my nails as promised :)
Also a little update on the chip factor of this nail varnish. It's lasted me an incredible 4 days virtually chip free. I say virtually because there are just some little chips on the tips of my nails. I have been at work for these 4 days as well so that's pretty good going for me, since my other nail varnishes (including my nails inc. ones) barely last an hour without chipping. So I'm very pleased! It does say on the bottle that it lasts up to 10 days but i think, with work and other day to day activities, that's pretty ambitious!

This is my new favourite nail colour. It's so dark and rich. Perfect for autumn :) You only need two coats for perfect coverage and just like coral romance, it has the lovely thick brush so it glides on smoothly! I absolutely love this stuff!

My new nail varnish love

Hello people :)
Today I found myself loitering around the local pharmacy because of my boyfriend's poorly tooth (that's another story). I can't resist a browse around a pharmacy whilst i wait, I'm such a sucker for cosmetics that i just have to have a look to see what i can buy, even if i don't need anything. I always walk out of there with an array of colours painted all over my hands from trying out all the testers.
Today i came away with two rimmel Lycra pro nail varnishes. They were two for £7 so i had to take advantage of the offer (the offer was in a boots pharmacy FYI, so I'm sure the offer extends to larger boots stores!). The one that originally caught my eye was a shade called coral romance.

In this picture it looks more of a hot pink than a coral, but i think that must be my camera being dodgy. On my nails in real life it looks more of a light shade of red/orange colour. I was looking forward to a nice summery shade adorning my fingers to brighten up my autumn days, and i was not disappointed.
The dark red shade i bought is called celebrity bash. I used this one on my toes and i absolutely love it! It looks amazing and is the perfect dark, brooding shade for autumn! I really can't wait to paint my fingernails with this one, it's just such a beautiful colour! When i do paint my fingernails with this, i will do a separate post with a picture so you can see for yourselves how nice it is! :) I will also let you know how chip resistant it is, as i haven't had the chance to really wear this yet. It says on the bottle that it can last up to 10 days but i'll soon see about that! I seem to have a real problem with my nail varnish chipping, even with top coat so I'm interested to see how long this one with last without chipping away.
What i love best about these nail varnishes is the brush! It's really wide and it covers the whole nail when you apply it, so it goes on with just one stroke. I used two coats just to make the colour richer but that's all you need. And because it goes on so smoothly, you can do your nails really quickly! I always seem to get nail varnish all over my fingers when i use thinner brushes (not a good look) but that doesn't happen with this nail varnish which is a big bonus!
All in all, I'm very happy with my impromptu purchases and i will definitely be buying more of these nail varnishes. If anyone else has any of these and can recommend a nice colour for me to try, then I'd love to hear from you! :)

What I wore today and the museum

Hello everyone
Lately, i have been reminiscing about my childhood a lot. Back when i was between the ages of 6 and 9, my nanny used to take me to the Norwich castle museum. I have been thinking about these times a lot lately and talking about them, so my boyfriend decided to surprise me and take me back there today! They have modernised it A LOT since i was a kid but all the stuff in there is very much the same. Which took me right back to when i was a kid. Me and my cousin would always look in fascination at the ancient Egypt exhibition in there and we loved the stuffed animals and taxidermy (we've always been a little weird). Something that was new though was a "fashion through the ages" exhibition. As you can well imagine, i was in my element, looking at and reading about all the different fashions through the years. I took a couple of pictures.

That lovely yellow show you see there is from the 1970s and there were a variety of badges and some 1970s earrings. There was a vintage Vivienne Westwood purse in there too but i didn't manage to get that in the picture.

This dress is from 1856!

Here is what i wore for our day trip :)

Top - Made by me
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins
Boots - Matalan
Bag - Primark

I did post about this top previously but this is the first time I've worn it out. It was very comfy but i did notice that my cutting skills are not up to much. It's all a bit wonky which is disappointing but it all adds to the charm i guess, and it was my first attempt. The shoulders were sticking out as well, which I'm guessing is from where i cut out the shoulder pads from when it was previously a foisty old dress :P. If anyone knows how i can stop this from happening then please email me or leave me a comment. I'd really appreciate it!
I'm so glad that autumn is here! As much as i like being able to enjoy the sunshine, it has been far too hot for me this year so i was looking forward to being able to wrap up In long sleeves and boots. these boots are my favourite thing at the minute. They're Chelsea boots and they're black glittery! I love a bit of sparkle, so when i saw these i had to have them. They're so comfy as well, which is always a bonus.
I'm glad to finally be wearing jeans, i never used to find them comfy but since I've lost some weight (19lbs so far) i find them very easy to slip into and comfortable to move in so that's something I'm happy about!
All in all, I've had a lovely day. I've felt more confident today than i think i ever have before and it's been fun re-living a big part of my childhood. And i owe it all to my amazing boyfriend.

I love you, Adam :)

Benefit "Posietint"

I am completely in love with benefit products! I think benefit is probably my favourite make up brand. I recently bought the "big 10" collection off eBay, it's a set of 10 of their big sellers in miniature sample size!

I will be reviewing all these products eventually because I love them all and have a lot to say about them! But this post is dedicated to the lovely PosieTint!

This is a pinky coloured cheek and lip tint, it is more translucent than its predecessor;   benetint and the colour is a bit more pigmented. It still just gives a subtle redness to your lips and makes them look very kissable. I will admit that I didn't really get on too well with using it on my cheeks. It just wouldn't blend properly on my skin and it looked too pink and blotchy. I won't be using it on my cheeks again.
My lips are quite red anyway but this really enhances them and really adds something very summery to any look. I just apply three dots to my top and bottom lip then dab it around to blend and even out the colour. Here it is on my lips (not a great photo)

As I said, the look is very subtle but I really feel like it completes my look these days. I've never been one for wearing colour on my lips but i think when i run out of this, I'll definitely be buying the full size and making it a staple in my make up bag! It doesn't dry my lips out either and it has quite a nice smell to it!
Another winner for me from benefit :)

Lady Gaga - Fame (Perfume)

Hi there :)
Today, I am going to be sharing my thoughts on the new fragrance from Lady Gaga. It's called "Fame".
I am a very big fan of Lady Gaga so when I heard she was launching her own perfume, I was very excited! I knew that I'd want it even before I'd read anything about it and before I'd smelt it! However, I decided to buy a small sample from a seller on eBay before I went out and bought the real thing as I have made that mistake so many times before, just buying a perfume because I liked who's name was slapped across the front. It's not that it's overly expensive (prices range from £24.50 to £54.50) but I'm just older and wiser now!

Here is a picture of the bottle

This is how it is described by the perfume shop

"Lady Gaga Fame is the first ever black Eau de Parfum that sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne. The fragrance has a unique structure called the "push-pull technology," where the ingredients interact together to highlight different olfactive aspects of each note at the same time, without any hierarchy. The scent is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light. The dark accord was inspired by Belladonna, the deadly nightshade possessed by haunted beauties since the 18th century. From this darkness, the fragrance evolves to a sensual accord of opulence, a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar. And lastly, the light accord whispers magnificence. The rich floral layer of crushed Tiger Orchid and Jasmine Sambac embodies timeless beauty. The accords work together to create a fragrance of floral and fruity elements, with the star ingredient inspired by Belladonna levelling out the whole fragrance and giving Lady Gaga Fame its signature as a scent."

On the box

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed by this perfume. I'm glad I only bought the sample as it's not something that I would pay full price for or wear everyday. Don't get me wrong, it's got a pleasant smell but it doesn't have that uniqueness that I believe Lady Gaga is all about. The fact that you can't pick out a distinctive note within it only adds to the disappointment. It just smells like every other generic celebrity perfume that's been released. I would have liked it if she'd have gone for something a bit different. The fact that it's black is a pointless feature as well. I'm just going to be blunt about this but it seems as though she has done this to make up for the fact that the scent is a little bit boring. I think the box is very wordy and the bottle is fancy but it doesn't really mean anything when it comes to the smell of the perfume. I like to be able to pick out the notes in a perfume i wear and this one just wasn't for me. Sorry to say this, but this perfume just doesn't live up to all the hype and promotion that surrounded it!

Summer Fun :)

Necklace - Disney Couture
Dress - Matalan
Sandals - Matalan

These sandals have served me well every summer for the last three years, they look quite restricting because of all the straps but they're actually very comfy. I can't not wear bright colours and these just tick all the boxes! Every strap features something different so it gives you the best of a few trends! I'm not one for throwing away all my old stuff when the new season comes in. I'd much rather just wear the things I like and get as many wears out of things as possible. I like just fitting into my own style. This dress is new though, and I love it! It's really good for these boiling hot days as the material is very light and I absolutely love the print of this! It's flattering for us bigger girls as it distracts the eyes! It's great to wear just on it's own or with a cardigan. I usually wear it with a short red cardigan.
This necklace is one of my favourites, it's so unique! It's a heart from the film Snow White. You can't see it from the picture but it actually fastens via a sword that passes through the heart! It's details like that that makes me adore Disney Couture. They really pay attention to detail from each film, for each piece!

My outfit for today :)

Dress - New Look
Blouse - Primark
Ring - Dorothy Perkins
Necklace - Mad Hatties

I've had this dress for about five years and it's just been sitting in my wardrobe since then. I re-discovered it a few weeks back and it's now become one of my favourite pieces! It's great for layering tops over or under it and it's really comfortable and easy to wear.
I LOVE statement jewellery, it's kind of my thing :) This ring is like a snooker ball and very heavy, but i love the bright purpleness of it. The necklace was a gift from my cousin, it's from a handmade jewellery company called mad hatties who specialised in Alice in wonderland themed jewellery. Unfortunately, I've just read that they are no longer in business which is a great shame :( You can't see it from this picture but the necklace has a small teapot and teacup inside, it's so cute :)

I just wanted to apologise for the lack of posts lately. The truth is, I literally have nothing to blog about! All my money is budgeted into other things at the minute so i haven't been able to buy anything new to write about! Sad but true :(
I'm hoping that normal service will be resumed soon and i'll have something to write about!

My beautiful new necklace

Hello :)
Now, as a 90's kid, I am very much in love with all things Disney! And I absolutely love Disney couture jewellery. I've become quite the collector of these beautiful pieces! I have seven so far. The detail is just exquisite and they really capture the soul of Disney! I'm in love with them!
Alice in Wonderland is my all time favourite Disney film and my wonderful boyfriend got me an amazing new Disney couture necklace for my birthday.

This is my favourite piece of mine, I love the detail and it's so shiny and striking. Just underneath the lid it says "believe the impossible". The bottle opens and I think it doubles up as a perfume bottle but I really don't want to taint my beautiful necklace with chemicals :P
I love how Alice is attached to the clasp too, but I now have that slightly imprinted on the back of my neck thanks to the beautiful British weather we've been having recently!

Customisation - Attempt one

So, this week i tried my hand at customising a dress into a top. I am in no way a seamstress but i am an eBay addict, so when i typed in "vintage" in the eBay search bar, in the vain hope that there would actually be a vintage garment in my size, my heart nearly stopped when i saw that there was! A plus sized, vintage bargain. I was in heaven! Or so i thought.
I bidded on the dress without hesitation, then when i went back later and had a proper look at it, i thought "oh no!". The vintage dress that i thought i could jazz up with a chunky waist belt and gold accessories, quickly turned into a hideous frumpy frock which wouldn't flatter my curves at all. I panicked a bit but i thought I'd be safe if someone else bidded on it, so i just put it to the back of my mind. Then i got the email...."congratulations! you are the high bidder and have won vintage 40's dress" OH NO!

For some reason the picture will only show up tiny! :/

I emailed the seller and told her that the dress was no longer to my taste but unfortunately she said she couldn't help me and all i could really do was to get the item and then re-sell it. No offence to her but i don't think re-selling it was an option as i was the only person who'd bidded previously and it was listed for almost two weeks. My only other option, was to give it a new lease of life!
I've dabbled in sewing before, i sometimes make sock monkeys in my spare time and I'm more than capable of fixing cosmetic damage. So i thought, how hard can it be :/
I turned this dress into a half button up shirt with a handkerchief hem. This style of hem wasn't my original choice but i will hold my hands up and say that my cutting of the dress was so diabolical that it ended up that way. I felt a bit dis-heartened after the cutting as it was harder than i thought but i persevered and HAND STITCHED (just needed to stress that fact) all the way along the bottom with a half inch fold just so it didn't look all jaggy. And i must say that I'm so glad i persevered. I'm absolutely in love with my new top. It's not in any way perfect! And it is a little bit wonky but in my book that all adds to the charm! I love the fact that I'm the only person with this top and it's really flattering. I think I'll definitely get some more practice with customising, it gives you a great feeling of achievement and individuality!
It also goes amazingly with my new jeans - i am now a convert to jeans after years of searching for some that actually fit my little legs! Dorothy Perkins, you godsend! :)

Sorry about the poor picture quality but it was actually a nice day in Great Britain!

Shoes or Art?

Ok, so i wanted to draw everyone's attention to this amazing shoe designer that i stumbled across a while ago by accident, his name is Kobi Levi. I don't know how well known he is so i thought I'd post about him on here as i think EVERYONE needs to see his designs. They're amazing! They're like little pieces of wearable art! I don't own any of his pieces but they are just so exquisite to look at! The attention to detail is spectacular and they really are something to be admired. I'll post a few pictures on here then I'll post a link to his blog.

Ok, so i'm in love!

So I recently treated myself to my first nails inc nail varnish and I was not disappointed. After lusting after them for months and trying to select a shade that I wanted the most (they have so many great colours, it's so hard to decide), I finally decided on one of their new 3D glitters. I went for Hammersmith. It says it's a teal pink glitter but I personally can't see any pink in it at all.

I bought mine for £6.20 from eBay but this retails at £11. I do like to save myself a bit of money.
This goes on really dense but it gives great coverage and it dries really quick! I usually apply two coats for a super glittery effect. You need a lot of top coat with this nail varnish, I applied one coat and it just drank it up straight away! I think for the glossy result I got, I ended up applying 5 top coats! Seems extreme but as I said before, this nail varnish really soaks up the top coat and I wanted to make sure I locked in the glitter!
I do have a picture of this on my nails but it makes the glitter look more silver than it actually is!

There are some flecks of silver glitter in it, but the smaller particles are teal and it's tightly packed!
I absolutely love this nail varnish and will definitely be buying more nails inc! They're such great quality and are so easy to apply! I'm converted!

Soap And Glory - Scrub Your Nose In It

RRP £7.40 for 125ml

What it does.
Claims to reduce large pores and prevent blemishes, whilst leaving your skin silky soft.

What I thought.
This review is so painful for me to write, I'm a big big fan of soap and glory products and i wouldn't usually have a bad word to say about them. I did like this product, but my skin really didn't!
This can be used as a facewash or a mask, i used this for about 2 weeks and i used it twice a week as a wash (because of it's exfoliating properties - i don't like to over exfoliate) and once a week as a mask. It felt nice to apply and it wasn't overly grainy like some exfoliators are. It also had a nice minty smell which left your skin feeling all tingly and refreshed.
I tried persevering with this product but it made me have one of the worst breakouts of spots since i was a teenager. I had spots everywhere. It did to my skin, the complete opposite of what it said on the bottle. I stopped using this two weeks ago and my skin is still not fully recovered. I would recommend this as i think it just didn't agree with my skin type. I've seen mostly good reviews for this product (that's why i decided to buy it) but for me and my poor oily skin, it just really didn't work. I'd give this product a 3 out of 10. My score is only based on the smell and how it leaves your skin feeling afterwards. Everything else is a no no for me I'm afraid.

What I'm lusting after this week

Ted Baker - Gemm- Jelly Shoes £50

Now, as much as i love looking at heels, i can't walk in them and i really do not find them comfy at all. So I'm all about the flats. And, being a 90's kid, I'm absolutely in love with anything that brings back a bit of nostalgia. And Jelly shoes are absolutely perfect for bringing back a bit of 90's chic! I love these because they bring a modern twist to the classic jelly shoe. Perfect for holidays or just for everyday.
My only problem with these is the price....£50 for jelly shoes! Really!? But they are Ted Baker, and they're soooooo pretty! Hmm....can i justify it!?

Bare lashes!? No thanks!

Hello lovely people :)
I just wanted to draw people's attention to something I read in my more magazine yesterday. Designers are now sending their models down the catwalk with bare eyelashes. There's just something about this that I don't feel comfortable with. Now, for work, I pretty much never wear make up but I think after you've put a full face on, the mascara'd eyelashes just set it off! I can't imagine just going natural with the eyelashes and nothing else. To me, wearing mascara is like putting my eyes in a frame! I love my eyelashes to look long and fluttery and this bare lashes look just doesn't sit right with me.
What does everyone else think about this latest make up trend?

My Five Beauty Must-Haves

I thought I would kick this blog off by writing about my five beauty must-haves. These are the products that I just can't live without. These are in no particular order as I love them all equally :)
So without further delay, here we go!
Please note, that I usually get my make up from eBay. Which is usually cheaper than I will state on here as I will put the RRP :)

1.) Benefit "Stay, don't Stray" primer. RRP £19.50 - 10ml

Now, let me start of by saying, this seems like a splurge for me. But I can assure you that it's worth it! Primer is important for my make up routine, as without it, i can look like my make up is melting off my face because of my dreaded oily skin! I use this before my eyeshadow and concealor to make sure it stays put all day! You only need a little bit, one dot on each eyelid and a small dot over the places you are applying concealor. Just be careful as it has a pump dispenser, which can make it difficult to control the amount that come out Try to push it down slowly, as otherwise you will have a load of primer leftover, and nowhere to put it! Once you've blended it in, it dries invisibly And after, it's dry, just apply your eye shadow as normal and it will last you all day. I really don't know how I lived without this product. I love it! Don't be put off by the seemingly small bottle as it will last you for ages! Oh yeah, and it's also good for hiding dark circles under the eyes too! :)

2.) L'Oreal Volume Shocking Mascara - Waterproof in Black. Prices May Vary.

Now, the reason I had to write "prices may vary" is because this has been discontinued in the UK. Which I am so disappointed about as this is the ONLY mascara to date that has any effect on my eyelashes and manages to get them exactly how I want them. I have to buy this off eBay and it usually costs me around £10 for two tubes. I can't big this stuff up enough, I just love it. I have quite short eyelashes normally, but this makes me look like I'm wearing falsies, and people always comment on how long they look when I wear this mascara. It boasts 12 times more volume and boy does it deliver! I always curl my eyelashes first just to give maximum effect. I always use eyelash curlers with a spring in them as this somehow makes the curl last all day. Step one is a silvery base coat which works to prep your eyelashes and define them ready for step two. Step two is the black mascara. It has a comb brush instead of the traditional mascara wand which allows precise application with no mess. I usually apply 2-3 coats of the black mascara to build up the volume. The comb really helps to avoid clumps as well which is a great bonus as there's nothing worse looking that clumpy mascara. I have absolutely no idea why this was discontinued as it is the best mascara I have ever used!

3.) Rimmel exaggerate liquid eyeliner in black. RRP £5.29 for 2.5ml

I absolutely love wearing liquid eye liner. It's part of my everyday make up and this one really packs a punch! It's got a good sized brush and can be applied in thick or thin lines. Admittedly, liquid eye liner can be tricky for beginners, but you just have to persevere! And once you get the hang of it, it can really add drama to your look. I like to add flicks at the end of my eyelids for an extra, unique look! This works well over eye shadow as well. It's such a versatile product and it's good to play around with so you can change up your look and find your own way to wear your eye liner. I've been using this for years now and it really is the only eye liner for me!

4.) Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising cream RRP £4.28 for 200ml

Moisturising is essential to anyone's beauty regime! It's very important to look after your skin, especially on sensitive areas like your face. If you wash your face daily with a cleanser, then it is essential to moisturise afterwards to stop your face from drying out. I love this moisturiser because it's so versatile. You can use it on your face, hands and body and it's so light. I have quite oily skin and this cream doesn't make it worse, like other creams I've tried. You only need to use a little bit, as it spreads quite far over your face. This tub should last a couple of months, they even do a 75ml tube to pop in your handbag! Perfect!

5.) GHD IV Hair Straighteners RRP £99

Now, i know these are very expensive, but they need to be thought of as an investment!
In my opinion, no other hair straighteners come close to these. I have naturally curly hair, and now that it's been cut short, it's very important to me that it is kept straight, and these do the job like no other! Once my hair has been straightened with these, that's it! I needn't touch it for the rest of the day. It isn't left frizzy, or static. Just smooth, shiny and most importantly, STRAIGHT! These are well worth the money and come with a two year guarantee, just for a bit of piece of mind. Just please, make sure you use a decent heat protection spray when using these (and any other heated hair appliance) as otherwise your hair could risk being frazzled. Which is never a good look!

So there you have it. Those are my top 5 beauty must-haves. And my very first post in my new blog. I hope you all enjoyed reading it! If you feel like i have missed any vital information about any of the products mentioned, then please feel free to leave me a comment!
